I-285 Advanced Improvement Projects
The I-285 Advanced Improvement Projects will provide local road improvements earlier, mitigate traffic challenges during the construction of the major express lane projects, provide early operational improvements to general-purpose lanes, and maintain healthy competition among our construction developer partners.
RECENT NEWS
The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has advanced these Design-Build (DB) projects – I-285 Westbound Auxiliary Lane Extension, I-285/Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Interchange Improvements, I-285 Eastside Bridge Replacements. These projects are part of the monumental Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP), which represents a major investment in the state’s roadway transportation network to meet regional needs and deliver positive results to drivers.
The timelines for the three projects on I-285 were advanced in 2019 to accommodate the planned delivery of express lanes on I-285. Currently all of the projects have been awarded and are in active construction or beginning early construction activities.
